For the second consecutive year, Transwestern has won top TOBY Awards (Outstanding Building of the Year) from the Building Owners and Management Association (
BOMA), Orange County. The awards recognize Transwestern’s building management and operations skills in two significant size categories: The TOBY award for buildings 500,000 to 1,000,000 Square Feet went to MetroCenter at South Coast in Costa Mesa; and the award for 250,000 to 499,999 Square Feet went to 2040 Main Street in Irvine.
In addition, Transwestern General Manager Brian Harnetiaux was named 2011 Principal Member of the Year. Harnetiaux, manager of MetroCenter, is serving out his second (and last) year as chapter president of BOMA Orange County. Transwestern is the third-largest property manager in Orange County.
The 2011 BOMA Orange County TOBY awards ceremony was Friday, November 18 at The Marriott, Newport Beach. The competition – the most prestigious award in Orange County commercial real estate – honors outstanding commercial office buildings and excellence in building management. Both Transwestern-managed properties are also designated BOMA 360 buildings, demonstrating best practices in all major areas of building operations and management.
“Not only is this the second year in a row these Orange County buildings have won in their categories, but the awards come as Transwestern has also been recognized as a Best Place to Work for two years running by the Orange County Business Journal,” said Transwestern Managing Senior Vice President Dave Rock. “And for Brian Harnetiaux to be named BOMA Principal Member of the Year at the same time is yet another testament to Transwestern’s exceptionally high standards, which we apply to every building we manage. Orange County is one of the most-watched and competitive office markets in the country, making all of these awards magnificent achievements.”
