Transwestern’s Midwest regional headquarters announced today that it has been retained by Bentall Kennedy on behalf of Multi-Employer Property Trust (MEPT) to provide exclusive leasing and property management services for the building. Transwestern’s Tamara Kos, Edward McKim and Teddy Walsh will serve as leasing agents for the project.
Bentall Kennedy LP, one of North America’s largest independent real estate investment advisors, advised MEPT –the new owner of 200 West Madison – in the acquisition of 200 West Madison from a joint venture that included Tishman Speyer, Pearlmark Real Estate Advisors LLC, and a major U.S. pension plan. Paul Barile and Janice Sellis of Transwestern’s Chicago Investment Services Group represented MEPT in the transaction with assistance from Transwestern’s Gary Nussbaum, Tom Gorman and Tamara Kos.
“We are very proud of the fact that this transaction embodies so many aspects of Transwestern’s service delivery in introducing the parties to this opportunity and creating a value enhancement from this sale, both for the current ownership of the building and for Bentall Kennedy and MEPT,” says Robert Bagguley, president of Transwestern’s Midwest region, “We are extremely pleased to be awarded the leasing and property management assignment for 200 West Madison where we also maintain our Chicago and Midwest regional headquarters.”
Built in 1983 and located on the northwest corner of Madison and Wells Streets in Chicago’s Loop, 200 West Madison is a 928,000 square foot, 45-floor, Class “A” office high-rise that is currently 88 percent leased. With a sawtooth design that allows greater access to natural light and flexible office planning, the building offers a full range of amenities including on-site management, secured parking, building conference room, tenant fitness center and Starbucks. 200 West Madison is located within a short walking distance of commuter rails, the CTA “L”, numerous bus lines and expressways. In 2011, the building achieved a LEED® Silver certification status from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
Previously, 200 West Madison was jointly leased by Transwestern’s Tamara Kos and Tishman Speyer’s Eric Myers.
