In a significant move that represents the retention and expansion of employees in the metropolitan Phoenix area, Transwestern Vice President Jodi Bailey has negotiated the renewal of office space for US Airways at 8140 S Hardy Drive in Tempe, Ariz. The multi-year, 61,997-square-foot lease for US Airways’ travel reservations center is valued at approximately $4.5 million. Bailey represented the landlord. Representing US Airways was Jones Lang LaSalle Senior Managing Director Steve Corney.
“This renewal keeps the US Airways reservations center in the region,” said Bailey. “Previously, the airline had been outsourcing this service overseas, so this is a very positive sign for the metropolitan Phoenix area, as it will bring at least 150 new jobs to the region and strengthen our hometown airline industry.”
US Airways, along with US Airways Shuttle and US Airways Express, operates more than 3,000 flights per day and serves more than 200 communities in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean, Central and South America.
