​Transwestern today announced that 1000 Main has received LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance™ green building rating system. LEED is the USGBC's leading rating system for designing and constructing the world's most energy efficient and high-performance buildings.

1000 Main, one of downtown Houston’s premier office towers, totals 837,161 square feet and is located on a full city block in the heart of the Central Business District.

“We are dedicated to making sustainability initiatives a priority at 1000 Main and we are extremely proud to have achieved the distinctive honor of LEED-EB Gold certification,” stated Brett Williams, senior property manager with Transwestern.

To earn the certification, Transwestern Sustainability Services and the building management team implemented a number of sustainable design and operational features.
