Scott Melnick is Managing Principal of the Transwestern Institutional Multifamily Group (IMG) and, along with his partner Al Cissel, leads a team of ten professionals in providing transaction-related investment services to multifamily industry clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Mr. Melnick has over 20 years of experience and is widely recognized as a leading multifamily broker in the Mid-Atlantic region. Scott Melnick and Al Cissel have coordinated over $4 billion in transactions over the last three years. In addition, they have been recognized by the Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors (GWCAR) as the top-producing multifamily brokers in the Washington, DC metro area from 2004 to 2007. Commercial Property News rated Melnick as the “Top Performing” multifamily brokers nationally in 2004, and Transwestern has recognized him among the firm’s top producers nationally each of the last five years.

Scott and the Institutional Multifamily Group’s reputation has earned repeat business with some of the leading firms in the industry – including AEW, Archstone-Smith, BlackRock Realty, Camden, Equity Residential, ING, JPI, Stellar Advisors and Trammell Crow Residential.

Scott is a board member of the National Multi Housing Council, as well as former board member and regional Vice President of the Washington, DC, Commercial Association of Realtors.

Scott is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.

Scott earned his M.B.A. from New York University
and his B.A. from Ithaca College.
